A Rede Mocoronga de Comunicação Popular é uma iniciativa do Projeto Saúde & Alegria, ONG que atua em 143 comunidades ribeirinhas dos municípios de Santarém e Belterra com programas de Desenvolvimento Comunitário Integrado e Sustentável.
A Rede promove o protagonismo juvenil e a cidadania através da educomunicação – produção jornais comunitários, vídeos e programas de rádio, construindo um intercâmbio permanente de informações e conhecimentos, difundido conteúdos locais entre as próprias comunidades e destas para o Brasil e o mundo.
A incorporação das novas tecnologias de informação e comunicação – TICs, com a implantação de telecentros culturais comunitários, é o novo desafio da proposta. Atualmente 31 sucursais rurais formadas por adolescentes e jovens compõe a Rede.
