Técnicos iniciam coleta de sementes para produção de mudas
14 de março de 2019 por Samela BonfimPrioridade é reunir sementes das espécies mais solicitadas pelos comunitários. Em fevereiro de 2019 cerca de doze mil mudas de plantas nativas foram distribuídas no Arapiuns para reflorestamento
Nos primeiros meses do ano os técnicos do projeto Floresta Ativa Tapajós desenvolvido pelo Projeto Saúde e Alegria visitaram as comunidades São José 1, Zaire, Aminã, Atody, São Miguel, Arapiranga e Anã, todas no Arapiuns.
Nesse período de levantamento e cadastro de pré-distribuição das mudas, conversaram com os moradores e descobriram quais as espécies de maior interesse e que representam forte potencial de reflorestamento e de incentivo à produção.
Com o fim da distribuição das primeiras mudas, os técnicos seguem agora para a nova missão com foco à próxima etapa: coletar as sementes das árvores encomendadas. As espécies mais solicitadas são: castanheira, Jenipapo, Açai Branco, Rambotam, Pequiá, Bacaba e Tapiririca.
Os coletores já iniciaram a atividade de sementes. “Como eles já viram as necessidades das comunidades, nesse momento agora vão coletar as semente das espécies certas” – explicou o técnico de campo do PSA, Walter Oliveira.
Após a coleta de todas as sementes, começa A produção das mudas que deve ocorrer no próximo mês.
Floresta Ativa
O projeto de distribuição de mudas pretende promover o reflorestamento através da participação dos próprios comunitários engajados com a defesa do meio ambiente e interessados em práticas de agricultura sustentável.
A intenção é recuperar áreas degradadas nas proximidades das comunidades, nos quintais e junto aos roçados familiares e oferecer aos produtores os instrumentos necessários para implantação de sistemas agroflorestais, permaculturais, entre outras práticas mais eficientes, eficazes e amigáveis ao meio ambiente. Desta forma, além de contribuir com a manutenção da floresta em pé, os agricultores familiares são incentivados a agregarem valor à sua produção, com a diversificação de espécies com valor de mercado, e a experimentação da venda de créditos de reposição florestal.
O programa Floresta Ativa Tapajós é desenvolvido pelo Projeto Saúde e Alegria com apoio do BNDS/Fundo Amazônia.
