Jovens ribeirinhos participam de oficina de Jornalismo Cidadão em Santarém

As oficinas de Jornalismo Cidadão e Tecnologias Livres para jovens e lideranças das comunidades ribeirinhas da Reserva Extrativista Tapajós Arapiuns (Resex) e Floresta Nacional (Flona) têm como ojetivo fomar monitores para acompanhar a qualidade da água nestas localidades.
A primeira dessas oficinas foi realizada na Escola do Parque, no último dia 05, e faz parte de uma série que acontecerá em Santarém, na Resex e em Belterra. Realizada pela InfoAmazônia, em parceria com o Projeto Saúde e Alegria e Secretarias Municipais de Meio Ambiente, as oficinas visam implantar uma ação piloto de monitoramento da qualidade da água, prevista para acontecer em julho, e assim identificar pessoas que estejam interessadas em representar suas comunidades.
A oficina, mediada pelo jornalista Giovanny Veras e pelo pesquisador Ricardo Guimarães, ambos do InfoAmazônia, teve suas atividades divididas em duas partes.
Pela manhã, houveram diálogos sobre produções independentes de conteúdos jornalísticos. Midiativismo, tecnologias livres e
jornalismo cidadão foram temas convergentes para estimular a participação de cidadãos comuns, sem formação jornalística, do processo de coleta à veiculação das reportagens, produzindo assim, conteúdos em seus próprios blogs.
De acordo com Giovanny, o jornalismo digital pode ser uma das ferramentas que estimula e permite que moradores, jornalistas, pesquisadores, ongs e universidades possam gerar narrativas e compartilhar análises de dados. Assim, “cria-se mais conhecimento sobre os problemas e soluções na Amazônia”, ressalta o jornalista.
À tarde, o pesquisador Ricardo Guimarães apresentou a ideia central do projeto: aplicar um sistema de monitoramento da qualidade da água nas comunidades, onde cada sensor medirá oito parâmetros, como pH, temperatura e turbidez. Os jovens irão aprender a metodologia do trabalho desde a instalação dos kits das caixas módulos em reservatórios para medição, até como enviar dados e enfrentar desafios em casos de impossiblidades de conexão.
O técnico ainda ressalta que no final desse processo, um servidor da InfoAmazônia, após o recebimento desses dados em tempo real, irá conferi-los, gerando um índice sobre a característica da água. Caso algum sensor apontar uma situação potencial de contaminação, uma análise laboratorial será feita detalhadamente.
Na parte prática da oficina, a turma testou o parâmetro do pH de algumas amostras de água, utilizando o protótipo do sensor. No final do evento, os participantes receberam certificados e ficaram responsáveis de enviar notícias comunitárias para começar a alimentar as informações no site da InfoAmazônia e sites parceiros.
Para o participante Mauro Duarte, da comunidade de Maguari – Flona, esse projeto levanta a bandeira coletiva de luta pela mesma causa para chegar à uma mudança, e “através da conexão entre água e jornalismo, coloca os direitos e problemas relativos à qualidade da água, em evidência”.
A jovem Natalina Oliveira, da Vila de Boim, lembrou que “nós, da comunidade, temos medo de represália se fomos fazer denúncias, mas com esse projeto podemos ter mais segurança de repassar nossas noticias, corretas e verdadeiras, com uso de recursos de multimídia.”
