Encontro de gerações na XIII Teia Cabocla

Olhar para o futuro se espelhando no passado e cuidando do presente. Nesta perspectiva foi conduzido o Diálogo entre gerações nos territórios, uma das atividades da XIII Teia Cabocla. Através de uma mesa redonda foram colocados lado a lado lideranças comunitárias, da antiga e nova geração. No centro do debate estavam os desafios enfrentados na Reserva Extrativista (Resex) Tapajós – Arapiuns.
O que almeja um jovem que vive em uma das comunidades da Resex? Quais as suas perspectivas e como ele se integra na luta pela preservação do território? E como líderes que participaram ativamente da luta pela criação da Resex observam o papel dos jovens agora com a reserva consolidada? São questionamentos que levam a uma reflexão profunda sobre o papel social de todos no contexto de preservação cultural e ambiental.
Entre os participantes da mesa redonda estavam Livaldo Sarmento de 55 anos e Antônio Oliveira, mais conhecido como Seu Mucura, de 75 anos. Ambos são lideranças que participaram ativamente da luta pela criação da Resex. Os outros participantes eram os jovens Julio César e João Paulo de 19 anos e Ingride Natália de 17 anos, todos dando os primeiros passos nas lutas sociais. Com todos sentados à mesa era interessante o impacto visual provocado pela diferença de idade, porém, mais interessante ainda foi observar que apesar de pertencerem a gerações diferentes todos compartilham os mesmos ideais de conquistas através da união comunitária.
Na Resex Tapajós – Arapiuns moram cerca de 22 mil pessoas em 74 comunidades. A reserva foi criada em 1998, após muita luta contra a exploração madeireira intensiva, que ameaçava comunidades tradicionais com modo de vida baseado no extrativismo e agricultura de subsistência. “Chegou um momento que tivemos que unir todas as comunidades e lutar para garantir que essas terras continuassem sendo nossas e de nossos filhos e netos”, lembra Livaldo Sarmento.
Após 15 anos a consolidação da Reserva Extrativista, como um ambiente ideal para a vida harmoniosa do homem com o meio ambiente, passa necessariamente pela ampliação de serviços essenciais como saúde e educação. Além disso é importante criar mecanismos de capacitação comunitária para melhor aproveitamento dos recursos naturais disponíveis. Tais benefícios só podem ser conquistados a partir da união das comunidades para cobrar melhorias do poder público. Neste caso o papel do jovem é fundamental.
Seu Antônio Oliveira afirma que vê com muito entusiasmo a participação do jovem nas lutas comunitárias. “No meu tempo conseguimos criar muitos grupos de apoios, associações, sindicatos e outras formas de organização comunitária, e eu percebo que o jovem de hoje é muito parecido com o daquele tempo”, declara Antônio. Ingride Natália esclarece que o engajamento de muitos jovens é fruto do exemplo tomado com antigas lideranças. “Eu cresci vendo a luta dos meus pais e outros comunitários e me tornei uma pessoa comprometida com o bem comum. E tudo isso me faz ter vontade de me engajar em sindicatos, associações e até no conselho deliberativo da Resex e outros projetos”, enfatiza a jovem.
A dupla de líderes mais antigas, Livaldo e Antônio, observam uma vida melhor nas comunidades após a criação da Resex. “Hoje nós já temos mais escolas, casas de alvenaria e outros projetos conquistados com organização e muita luta”, esclarece Livaldo. Todos enfatizam ainda que hoje há facilidades de mobilização e comunicação, uma vez que em muitas comunidades já funcionam celulares e Internet, além de haver mais embarcações que fazem o transporte comunitário. “Minha mãe conta que antes para participar de reuniões de sindicatos em Santarém uma viagem demorava até uma semana, por conta do barco ser pequeno. Hoje em dia a viagem é muito mais rápida”, lembra Ingride Natália.
Mesmo com o quadro otimista, apontado pelos comunitários, há motivos para preocupação. João Paulo afirma que da mesma forma que há um número considerado de jovens comprometidos com as lutas sociais, também é grande os que não se preocupam com as causas da reserva. “Falta engajamento de muita gente e recebemos muitas críticas por conta desses jovens que não se interessam na defesa do território. Temos muitas dificuldades de fazer as pessoas entenderem que é preciso lutar pelo bem comum”, ressalta a jovem liderança.
As preocupações evidenciam a importância da união para as conquistas sociais. “Meus pais dizem que é nossa missão valorizar a cultura local, lutar pelo território. Podemos fazer isso utilizando os recursos que nós temos”, enfatiza Júlio César. Livaldo lembra que os jovens com 15 anos hoje não viram a luta pela criação da Resex e que cabe aos adultos sempre dar apoio aos mais jovens e lembrar dos desafios, porém cabe aos mais novos tomar à frente das associações e bandeiras de luta. “O futuro da Resex está no que esta geração decidir”, enfatiza o comunitário.
Uma boa fórmula, para que a Resex cumpra seu papel de garantir a exploração autossustentável dos recursos naturais, é mesclar a experiência de quem já enfrentou muitos desafios na luta comunitária e a motivação, audácia e força dos jovens.
