Movimento social perde Luzia Fati

Faleceu nesta segunda-feira, dia 04, em Macapá, a sindicalista Luzia Fati, com 42 anos, após um ataque cardíaco. Os movimentos sociais do norte perdem uma grande liderança. Em 1995 Luzia foi a primeira mulher a presidir um dos maiores sindicatos de trabalhadores rurais do país, o STR de Santarém. Porém, um pouco antes, com apenas 18 anos de idade, Luzia já estava na luta dos trabalhadores rurais. Vinda da pequena comunidade de Guaraná, região do Curuá-Una, ocupou a Secretaria Geral da então diretoria eleita na presidência de Natanael Alvez de Sousa.
“Luzia, apesar da pouca idade, convencia à todos, que nada vinha de graça para os trabalhadores e sim, que cada conquista, seria fruto de muita luta. Ela sempre dizia que a luta sem a participação da mulher ficaria pela metade e ela provou isso em 1995 quando foi eleita a primeira mulher presidente do STTR de Santarém”, comenta Carlos Dombroski, que também ocupou cargos de direção no sindicato ao lado de Luzia Fati. Foi com ela na diretoria que o sindicato ganhou mais uma letra T, e passou a ser mais do que dos Trabalhadores, e também das “Trabalhadoras”.
A CUT – Central Única dos Trabalhadores, divulgou nota em que diz: “Comprometida com a luta por uma sociedade justa, democrática e igualitária, buscando avançar nas questões socioambientais, Luzia cumpriu papel fundamental na formação e organização da classe trabalhadora na região Norte, estimulando com seu exemplo de abnegação e coragem os dirigentes sindicais nessa luta, reforçando o seu envolvimento e comprometimento. A ação na base deu resultado e redundou num forte crescimento do sindicalismo cutista, particularmente entre os trabalhadores rurais”.
História – Em 1989 foi da secretaria geral do STTR de Santarém. Em 1995 eleita a primeira mulher presidente do mesmo sindicato. Em seguida Luzia foi eleita para a Executiva Nacional da CUT no 6º CONCUT, realizado em 1997, representando o STTR De Santarém – PA. Foi reeleita para a Executiva Nacional no 7º CONCUT, realizado em 2000, e também no 8º CONCUT, em 2003. Integrou a Comissão Nacional sobre a Mulher Trabalhadora da CUT e foi coordenadora da Comissão Nacional da Amazônia da CUT, criada no 8º CONCUT, em 2003. No campo da gestão pública participou do governo da ex-prefeita Maria do Carmo (2005-2012), ocupando o 1º escalão, quando esteve à frente do Isam (Instituto Sócio Ambiental).
