Ontem, 19 de julho, o América Futebol Clube, da Vila de Boim fez a
sua torcida e demais curiosos sofrerem com sua atuação esportiva. Com muito sufoco conseguiu a classificação para disputar a grande final do 2° Copão do Alto Rio Tapajós 2012, que está sendo disputado pelas comunidades vizinhas. O adversário foi o Santos Futebol Clube, da comunidade de Nova Vista que apesar de não conseguir a classificação jogou bastante dando trabalho a equipe americana. A torcida santista era de agitação total, vieram pra realmente levar o titulo para casa. O Santos atuou melhor no primeiro tempo de jogo, conseguiu abrir o placar com Messias (Prainha) e sair na vantagem com um gol de diferença, fazendo a torcida vibrar com garra e vontade. Só no 2° tempo do jogo é que o América começou a reagir, graças ao amparo e amor da torcida que empurrava o time pra cima do adversário. Foi tanta a pressão dos atletas americanos que aos vinte minutos do segundo tempo de jogo é que o América conseguiu o empate com uma falta infantil do goleiro santista, cometendo um penalti importantíssimo para o América que conseguiu o empate merecido, Marco Antônio marcou e agitou o caldeirão da torcida vermelha e branca. Com o jogo empatado a decisão foi disputada nos penaltis. Na cobrança dos penaltis o América levou a melhor, conseguiu marcar 4 gols e o santos apenas 1 gol, perdendo a chance da classificação com 3 gols errados. Com isso, a torcida americana vibrou e comemorou bastante a classificação para a grande final do Campeonato. 
Seu adversário é o atual campeão do 1° Copão disputado no ano passado, o Internacional Futebol Clube, da Comunidade de Nova Vista. A grande disputa desse campeonato terá dois jogos, o primeiro jogo será no dia 28 de julho, no Estádio Ypêzão, Nova Vista. O segundo jogo e a grande final será no Estádio Frei Pedro, Vila de Boim, no dia 05 de agosto. Como favorito e tendo a grande chance de levar o título pra casa, a Diretoria do América Futebol Clube, já está se mobilizando em fazer uma grande festa de encerramento e participação no campeonato 2012.
