Três jovens do Tapajós vão participar de encontro com líderes mundiais

Os jovens Maikson Serrão, da comunidade de Boim, Rio Tapajós, Mônica Almeida, da cidade de Belterra, e Juscelino Filho, de Santarém, vão participar amanhã, dia 26/10/2011 na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, do encontro “Construindo um futuro melhor para todos: engajamento com a juventude brasileira”, promovido pelo movimento Elders. Trata-se de um grupo independente de grandes líderes mundiais formado por Martti Ahtisaari, Kofi Annan, Ela Bhatt, Lakhdar Brahimi, Gro Brundtland, Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Jimmy Carter, Graça Machel, Mary Robinson e Desmond Tutu, reunidos por iniciativa de Nelson Mandela, com o objetivo de direcionar sua experiência e influência a serviço da construção da paz, enfrentamento das principais causas de sofrimento humano e promoção dos interesses comuns da humanidade.
O encontro no Brasil tem por objetivo propiciar aos líderes The Elders um diálogo aberto com jovens brasileiros sobre problemas do país que o preocupam, bem como questões globais. O objetivo é inspirar um debate e desenvolver ideias para ações concretas que poderão ser compartilhadas com líderes e políticos do Brasil.
Foram selecionados aproximadamente 50 rapazes e moças com idades de 18 a 26 anos representando um amplo corte transversal da sociedade brasileira. Os participantes foram convidados como indivíduos, e não como representantes das suas organizações. Eles são jovens com participação ativa em suas comunidades, oradores confiantes e que têm algo importante a dizer sobre os principais problemas do país. Entre os principais temas a serem discutidos estão: i) Meio ambiente e desenvolvimento sustentável; ii) Empoderamento das mulheres; promoção da igualdade de gêneros; iii) Criação de um Brasil mais justo: raças e multiculturalismo; iv) Combate à violência: a função do governo e da sociedade.
O Projeto Saúde & Alegria indicou três jovens que foram selecionados para o encontro. Eles estão envolvidos com as iniciativas do projeto, como a Teia Cabocla de Lideranças Juvenis, que proporcionam o protagonismo da juventude da Amazônia no cenário nacional e internacional, desenvolvendo suas capacidades de expressar e negociar suas demandas nos espaços públicos. Conheça o perfil desses jovens abaixo:
Jucelino Oliveira Farias, 24 anos, é morador da cidade de Santarém, região oeste do Estado do Pará. Formado em Pedagogia pela Universidade Federal do Pará, desenvolveu dentro da universidade vários projetos educacionais junto a movimentos sociais. É formado também em Edição de Vídeo pela Nordens folkhögskola Biskops-Arnö, na suécia. Trabalha deste 2007 no ONG Projeto Saúde & Alegria, no setor de Educomunicação como técnico de educomunicação, sendo o editor do Programa de Rádio Rede Mocoronga, veiculado todos os sábados na Rádio Educadora Rural de Santarém. Em 2008 fundou junto com amigos a banda de reggae Consciência Roots, onde toca guitarra. É ativista de movimentos de cultural digital. Em 2010 escreveu o Projeto Música Livre pela Amazônia – MuLAma, que foi aprovado no edital Mais Cultura de Apoio a Microprojetos da Amazônia Legal do MinC, e que está em execução desde agosto deste ano. Este projeto tem como objetivo a produção cultural e artística de bandas da região. Jucelino é o Coordenador Geral e Produtor Musical do projeto MuLAma.
Mônica de Almeida, 22 anos, estudante de jornalismo, é moradora da cidade de Belterra, região oeste do Estado do Pará, uma cidade que nasceu na década de 20, com um experimento da empresa Ford em industrializar a produção da borracha a partir de seringueiras nativas da Amazônia. O empreendimento não prosperou, a cidade de Belterra passou por muitas transformações, e hoje é um peculiar município no interior do Pará. Mônica é filha de trabalhadores rurais. Sua mãe é liderança do Sindicato dos Trabalhadores Rurais de Belterra, com quem aprendeu desde cedo o gosto pelos movimentos sociais. Aos 13 anos se tornou comunicadora da Rádio Comunitária do município e depois passou a participar ativamente da Rede Mocoronga de Comunicacão Popular, experiência de educomunicação do Projeto Saúde e Alegria, ONG que atuam em 143 comunidades ribeirinhas da região. Na Rede Mocoronga, Mônica se tornou ativista ajudando a difundir a realidade da amazônia, seus problemas sociais e ambientais para o mundo com a voz das próprias populações tradicionais amazônicas. Já foi presidente da Associação de moradores local, e coordenou o primeiro telecentro de inclusão digital da cidade. Se tornou símbolo de mobilização social da juventude com o uso da internet no coração da amazônia. Na internet, se tornou ativa nas redes sociais como twitter e facebook, além doe manter um blog pessoal onde escreve as notícias locais. A blogueira Mônica foi personagem de publicidade nacional da VIVO com a campanha Brasil Conectado. Por sua experiencia, Mônica tem sido convidada para levar a voz da juventude da amazônia para diversos eventos pelo brasil e mundo a fora, fazendo intercâmbio inclusive na Suécia. Atualmente se dedica também ao trabalho de pesquisa histórica do Município de Belterra, coordenando o Centro de Memória da Cidade.
Maikson Serrão, 18 anos, é um jovem que nasceu na Vila de Boim, localizada no alto Rio Tapajós, no município de Santarém, Pará. Boim é uma comunidade histórica na colonização portuguesa na Amazônia, com 350 anos de história desde sua fundação. Tem cerca de 200 famílias e está situada na Reserva Extrativista Tapajós-Arapiuns, não tem energia de rede e sua economia é baseada na agricultura familiar, pesca e coleta extrativista. A Vila de Boim só tem conexão por barco com a principal cidade da região, Santarém, numa viagem de cerca de dez horas com barcos “de linha” que atendem a comunidade duas vezes por semana. Maickson estudou sob o regime de
ensino modular, em que não há aulas em todos os dias letivos. O calendário letivo é adaptado à realidade de poucos professores disponíveis e aos rigores das estações de chuva e estiagem. Ainda assim Maickson hoje é estudante de educação física na Universidade Estadual do Pará, campus Santarém, num concurso em que ele disputou com outros jovens com formação em escolas particulares. Foi também aprovado no vestibular da Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará, um exemplo raro entre muitos jovens de realidades como a dele. Markson é uma liderança juvenil ativa em sua comunidade, coordena o grupo local de jovens e tem se destacada nas iniciativas de promoção da inclusão digital nas comunidades ribeirinhas onde atua o Projeto Saúde e Alegria. É editor do Blog da Vila de Boim na Rede Mocoronga de Comunicação Popular e foi selecionado em quatro chamadas criativas do Site Itsnoon.net. pela sua produção escrita e fotográfica da realidade de sua comunidade. Como jovem ribeirinho, tem demonstrado ativismo na defesa das demandas sociais da sua realidade amazônica, utilizando principalmente a internet. Já foi convidado a contar suas experiências em diversos eventos Brasil à fora, com palestras realizadas no Campus Party, na Conferência Internacional de Cidades Inovadoras (CICI), além de ter sido escolhido para participar de intercâmbio cultural na Holanda.
