Seminário Tapajós Sustentável marca diferencial na campanha pelo Estado do Tapajós

Ampliar o debate e engajar lideranças na campanha pela criação do Estado do Tapajós, a partir da participação popular, é um dos principais objetivos do Seminário Tapajós Sustentável que começou hoje pela manhã, 13/09 e segue até amanhã, no Iate Clube de Santarém.
O evento é promovido pela Articulação Popular Pró Estado do Tapajós – APPT que reúne diversas organizações e movimentos sociais da região Oeste do Pará, como Sindicatos de Trabalhadores Rurais, Associações de Mulheres, Federação de Associações de Bairros, Comunidades Indígenas e Quilombolas e Organizações Não-Governamentais.
Cerca de 250 lideranças populares vindas de municípios como Prainha, Uruará, Óbidos, Curuá, Almerim, Belterra, Juruti, Oriximiná, Monte Alegre, Terra Santa, Novo progresso, Trairão, Alenquer, Aveiro, Faro, além de Santarém, estão participando.
Após uma animada dinâmica de boas vindas feita pelo educador Magnólio de Oliveira do Projeto Saúde e Alegria, o evento começou com uma apresentação dos objetivos da APPT. João Ribeiro, do CEFTBAM, disse que o propósito da articulação e do seminário, é fazer a discussão sobre a criação do Estado do Tapajós com os principais interessados, a população que vive a conhece a realidade de seus municípios. Sara Pereira, da FANCOS, completou: “queremos mostrar que nosso SIM ao Estado do Tapajós vem junto com uma responsabilidade de construirmos um estado sustentável, e não que repita o velho modelo, mas que busque, inclusive, romper com a lógica de boa parte da classe política atual que também é responsável pelas péssimas condições sociais que temos hoje”.
A participação do jornalista e Professor da UFPA, Manuel Dutra, veio em seguida para contribuir ao debate, acrescentando elementos sócio-históricos que embasam sua defesa pelo SIM ao novo Estado. Entre outras questões, Dutra explicou o sentido cultural do ser do Tapajós. “É mentira quem tenta dizer que essa luta é de hoje. Nossos avós, pais, filhos, antigas e atuais gerações já nasceram ouvindo falar do sonho do Tapajós. É um desejo que vem desde a época da Província do Grão Pará, acompanhou a criação da Província e depois Estado do Amazonas. Passou por diversos momentos, altos e baixos, mas hoje tem finalmente um momento decisivo, com a realização do plebiscito”. Autor do livro O Pará Dividido, de 1999, o professor santareno que hoje vive em Belém, não tem dúvidas do sentido histórico do desejo de emancipação do povo do Oeste, havendo também os interesses políticos ao longo do tempo. Porém, Dutra rebate quem critica o movimento como de oportunistas. “Se oportunistas há, e com certeza há, onde não os há? Na Assembléia Legislativa do Pará? No Congresso da República? Melhor que os não houvesse em parte alguma…” escreveu em um de seus artigos em seu blog pessoal. “Nós queremos a criação do Estado do Tapajós porque ele já existe. Só precisa ser oficializado”, concluiu em entrevista à nossa reportagem.
Uma mesa com debatedores representando os diversos movimentos presentes, apontou aquilo que os organizadores do evento chamaram de “o pingo do i” do SIM do Tapajós. Em sua maioria reforçaram que o novo Estado terá o desafio maior para se preocupar com a defesa de seu patrimônio ambiental, a luta contra o desmatamento, contra a corrupção, por políticas públicas mais acessíveis e próximas das reais necessidades da população, e com a oportunidade de construir uma constituição moderna. A Frase do representante da União dos Estudantes de Santarém – UES, resumiu bem o pensamento da maioria: “nosso Sim, não é o sim à madeira clandestina, ao modelo econômico devastador, é um sim à nova forma de pensar a Amazônia”.
Na tarde de hoje, em cinco grupos, os participantes vão discutir temas que apontam para “O Estado do Tapajós que desejam”: Governança e o Estado do Tapajós, ordenamento e regularização fundiária, Inclusão Social e diversidade cultural, Economia rural e Desenvolvimento urbano. As discussões vão resultar em um documento base que vai ajudar na disseminação da campanha do SIM do ponto de vista dos movimentos sociais.
