O poder público municipal foi acionado e garantiu, apenas, que só poderia fazer alguma coisa no verão. Prevendo conseqüências piores, os boinenses resolveram por a “mão na massa”.

Na cara e na coragem, buscaram meios e formas e conseguiram pelo menos frear o progresso da cratera. Esta, já ameaçava destruir a construção da praça da matriz e, estava tomando proporções gigantescas.
Boim sempre sofreu com erosões provocadas pelas águas pluviais e em fevereiro passado, em frente à vila surgiu uma, causada, em parte, pelo péssimo trabalho de drenagem profunda realizado pelo poder público, anos atrás.
