Festa do Gambá

Ao longo dos tempos, vem sendo realizado na comunidade de Pinhel no município de Santarém/PA. A festa de São Benedito ou popularmente a festa do Gambá.
Como já sabemos esta cultura é realizada de ano em ano sempre no mês de Junho. A festa inicia pela madrugada do dia 28, às 03:00 horas, com alvorada na comunidade; às 06:00 horas prossegue o Banho de’Cheiro à beira do igarapé. Às 10:00 horas o festival continua com a esmolação (onde o Santo e os devotos visitam as casas comunitárias. Enquanto isso, os outros festeiros organizam-se para o grande mastro, que vai ser enfeitado com frutas, farinha, massa de carimã, etc;. Quando está pronto, as 17:00 horas é levantado, logo segue a ladainha. Temos café com biscoito e a dança do gambá, tomando o tarubá gostoso. Às 20:00 horas noite cultural onde danças disputam o primeiro lugar da premiação folclórica.
No dia 29, consagra a festa do Gambá onde homens e mulheres dançam no ritmo do Gambá dramatizando o Rei e a Rainha e os criados. Terminando apresentação é liberado o salão para quem quer dançar. Então, chega o dia 30, o dia da derruba do mastro e varrição, mas um dos festeiros sobe no mastro para retirar as frutas e a bandeira sagrada do Santo, onde nela esta desenhado São Benedito. Depois disso, cada um festeiro dar um corte de machado, até cair.
Quando isso acontece, o festeiro que subiu no mastro é abaixado e jogam trigo na cabeça dele. Então, começa a varrição que nada mas é, que a dança nas casas. Depois temos a dança do Boi-Bravo que encerra com chave de ouro.
