Urumari: Quem te ama, te preserva
25 de setembro de 2009 por Elis LucienUrumari é um igarapé localizado na cidade de Santarém no Pará, que têm sofrido com acúmulo de vestígios de atividades humanas. Antes, o igarapé era localizado afastado da cidade. Hoje encontra-se dentro da área urbana e conseqüentemente muitas famílias dependem de alguma forma desse recurso natural.
Vistas à esta situação e outras, formou-se um grupo de socorro, Comitê em Defesa do Urumari formado por pessoas da sociedade civil e entidades pública e ONG’s que têm por objetivo a recuperação do igarapé. Com o tema “Urumari: Quem te ama, te preserva”, esse grupo iniciou uma tarefa muito árdua, diagnosticar as possíveis fontes de alteração da qualidade da água do igarapé e a relação que isso traz para as famlias que encontram-se no entorno do mesmo.
O diagnóstico foi uma das formas para traçar um mapa sócio-ambiental da situação do igarapé e as condições de moradia das famílias por onde passa. O Diagnóstico Sócio-Ambiental participativo será aplicado por uma equipe composta por: moradores dos bairros do entorno do igarapé e universitários buscando informações do que existe nessa área para posterior estudo com sociedade civil e órgãos públicos para planejar o processo de recuperação.
No último dia 23 de Setembro, os acadêmicos do curso de Gestão Ambiental do Instituto Esperança de Ensino Superior – IESPES, tiveram o treinamento do questionário e o uso do GPs nas dependências da instituição com parceria do Projeto Saúde e Alegria – PSA, Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente – SEMA, EMATER-PARÁ e a Federação das Associações de Moradores e Organizações Comunitárias de Santarém – FANCOS.
