Comunitários realizarão Festival da Mandioca
17 de agosto de 2009 por Raquel FernandesA comunidade de Samaúma, na resex Tapajós, está se mobilizando para realizar o 2º Festival da mandioca, produto de maior consumo da população ribeirinha e muito utilizada para a fabricação de farinha.
De acordo com a coordenação do Festival, o objetivo é arrecadar recursos para a construção da rádio comunitária e restauração da casa comunitária.
O trabalho com a mandioca, acontece de forma artesanal em casas de farinha, envolvendo o trabalho familiar e comunitário, gerando renda e consumo para as próprias famílias. Além da produção da farinha, a mandioca tem várias outras utilidades, como o beiju, a tapioca retirada da própria mandioca, entre outras produções.
A programação do Festival esta prevista para o dia 01 de Setembro, dia em que a unidade móvel de saúde Abaré, estará fazendo atendimento nessa comunidade. Toda as famílias estão se organizando e esperando obter sucesso nessa programação.
