Boim terá primeira escola estadual da zona rural do município
3 de março de 2009 por Elis LucienApós anos reivindicando perante ao poder público, finalmente iniciou a construção de um novo prédio escolar em nossa comunidade.
O poder público só cedeu porque desde maio do ano passado que o prédio escolar (antigo convento dos padres franciscanos) foi interditado pela Defesa Civil. Houve até greve dos pais não permitindo que seus filhos frequentassem as aulas. Depois de acordos entre comunidade escolar e o município os alunos voltaram as aulas em lugares improvisados mas com a promessa de uma nova escola.
Portanto, desde dezembro a comunidade boinense viu o começo da realização de um antigo sonho.
O novo prédio escolar que está sendo construída pela “Arte em Pedra “Construção” está avaliado em R$ 699.428,00 .
Agora além do Ensino Fundamental também atenderá o Ensino Médio. Aproximadamente 400 alunos estudarão na nova escola que atenderá além de Boim as comunidades de Paraná-Pixuna, Jaca, São Tomé, Rosário, Tucumatuba, Nuquini e Nova Vista.
Será a primeira escola estadual da zona rural do município de Santarém e há expectativas que a partir de 2010 funcione o Ensino Médio regularmente.
Quanto ao antigo prédio a prefeitura o cadastrou no Ministério da Cultura em Brasília para talvez futuramente ele possa ser tombado historicamente.
