Santa Luzia padroeira de Muratuba
12 de dezembro de 2008 por Elis LucienA festa de Santa Luzia, é uma das festividades mais frequentadas na região ribeirinha do rio Tapajós. Padroeira da comunidade de Muratuba, localizada na Reserva Extrativista Tapajós/Arapiuns município de Santarém/PA. A programação começou desde do dia 05 de Dezembro e encerra neste sábado (13), Dia da Festa com alvorada e salva de fogos às 05:00h e a partir das 12:00h programação social.
Santa Luzia pertencia a uma nobre família de Siracusa, na Itália. Recebeu educação cristã, fazendo desde cedo, o voto de perpétua virgindade. Ficando órfã de pai, sua mãe adoeceu. A conselho de Luzia, fizeram uma romaria ao túmulo de Santa Águeda, na cidade de Catânia. Luzia, teve uma visão de Santa Àgueda que lhe disse: “Que desejas de mim, querida irmã? Tua mãe esta estabelecida, graças a tua fé”. Luzia encontrou a mãe totalmente curada. Voltaram para Siracusa e ai surgiu uma proposta de casamento que ela recusou terminantemente. Luzia distribui seus bens aos pobres e se preparou para o que viesse, com fervorosa oração. O jovem que nutria esperanças de casar-se com Luzia, sabendo da recusa e do favorecimento aos pobres, denunciou-a ao governador Pascásio, por não ter cumprido a palavra e por ser cristã e, portanto, desprezadora dos deuses nacionais. Luzia foi decapitada em 13 de Dezembro de 303.
