O FSM 2009 e a economia do amanhã

Pela primeira vez em muitos anos praticamente não se ouviu falar em Davos durante o Fórum Social Mundial. A edição de 2009, na Amazônia, foi a mais multiétnica de todas, por conta da grande presença de indígenas de muitas tribos.
O calor de Belém, as cores e a alegria dos participantes contrastaram com o frio da Suíça, onde o capitalismo revirava os baús de idéia a ver se encontrava uma que ainda não tivesse sido usada para revitalizar o agonizante mercado.
Decretar a morte do mercado ainda é precoce, no entanto em Belém novas modalidades de negócios, com valores baseados no trabalho e no meio ambiente, floresceram irrigados pelos participantes do FSM e pelas torrenciais chuvas do clima equatorial. Organizações de diversas origens e atividades dedicaram-se a praticar formas interessantes de “comércio justo”, “comércio solidário”, “cooperativa de produtores” e outras.
Os grandes jornais globais já não tratam o FSM apenas pelo pitoresco de seus participantes e pelas idéias espevitadas de alguns alegres ativistas. O olhar parece estar mais curioso, atento a idéias que possam contribuir para tirar o mundo do atoleiro em que o “mercado” nos meteu. Belém certamente pode oferecer contribuições para isso, mas que não se espere que elas venham organizadas, alinhadas e ordem alfabética e com boa didática.
Os resultados do FSM 2009 vão se clarear nos próximos dias e meses, quando as organizações e as pessoas conseguirem produzir os documentos e as reflexões sobre os temas debatidos.
É muita gente. Foram mais de duas mil reuniões pelas salas de duas grandes universidades, fora os acontecimentos ao ar livre e em eventos além do território do Fórum. Na busca por “uma lógica” muitos jornalistas e analistas vão atrás das posições de governos, afinal cinco presidentes estiveram reunidos em Belém.
Mas há sempre que se lembrar que o FSM é uma atividade da sociedade civil e os presidentes estão aqui a convite, não formulam a programação e nem influem decisivamente nos resultados do Fórum.
Em algumas mídias estão estampados chavões antigos, como o FSM é um movimento “contra a globalização”, ou um “uma representação da esquerda”, entre outros.
É verdade que muitos, a grande maioria, talvez, dos presentes sejam de esquerda. No entanto, esta forma reducionista de abordar o Fórum torna impraticável estender o olhar para além dos preconceitos. Jovens de todo o mundo estiveram reunidos em acampamentos lado a lado com comunidades indígenas, em sinergia de valores e pinturas. Isto certamente marcará suas vidas e os fará mais permeáveis às diferenças.
Em um calor de quase 40 graus os comportamentos em Belém certamente são diferentes da gelada Davos. Mas e os objetivos? Davos e Belém buscam, ou deveriam buscar, o bem estar e a perenidade da humanidade enquanto espécie.
Caso não seja isto que esteja nas pautas, precisamos rever, também, nossas prioridades enquanto espécie dominante no planeta. Usar gravata deveria ser apenas mais um detalhe da diversidade que o homem semeou pelo mundo, e não uma intransponível barreira ideológica.
Neste ano de 2009 o FSM também se mostrou atônico em relação a alguns aspectos da crise global, como o profeta apanhado de surpresa ao ver que suas previsões ocorreram.
Desde 2001 estavam acesos os sinais de alerta sobre os problemas do modelo de produção e consumo adotado pelo “mundo desenvolvido”, por ser excludente e incapaz de ampliar o acesso de uma maioria da humanidade aos confortos e serviços básicos. Naquele ano mesmo o World Trade Center veio abaixo junto com os sonhos de prosperidade da sociedade americana. O golpe foi acusado e a reação veio raivosa e xenófoba.
Nos anos seguintes, o argumento para não prestar atenção aos alertas do FSM foi a “guerra contra o terrorismo”. Todos que falavam contra o “modelo” eram “suspeitos de terrorismo”. Bom, certamente os militantes do FSM não são terroristas, nem mesmo seus organizadores.
As inovações que podem ajudar esta e as próximas gerações a reestruturar o modo de vida da humanidade estavam, em boa parte, presentes em Belém. Se fosse possível resumir como deveria ser a economia que vai alimentar os netos de nossos netos, seria muito bom poder dizer que será um modelo baseado no trabalho, na liberdade de expressão, nos direitos humanos e no respeito ao meio ambiente.
