Boim: um pouco de história

Santo Inácio é o grande e milagroso padroeiro da Vila de Boim. Sua festa é realizada de 20 a 31 de julho, e é considerada uma das maiores festas religiosas do Tapajós. Aprenda aqui sobre a vida e a história do Santo Inácio.
Iñigo Lopez de Loyola (Santo Inácio de Loyola), nasceu em Azozitia, na cidade de Loyola, região basca de Espanha, em 1491. Aos 14 anos de idade, Iñigo (Inácio) recebeu aos primeiros atos eclesiásticos, mas ainda não se sentia preparado, preferiu a espada de cavaleiro.
Durante a defesa do Castelo de Pampola, quebrou a perna direita que foi suficiente para lhe cortar a carreira militar. A sua cunhada, para passar o tempo de convalescença, trouxe-lhe para ler livros sobre a vida de Jesus e outros santos.
A partir de então, Inácio despertou sua vocação a Deus fazendo peregrinação a Terra Santa, buscando orientação espiritual com os beneditinos de Montserrat. Depois de um ano de intensa piedade e obras de bondade e caridade, começou a freqüentar os centros de estudo para preparar-se ao Sacerdócio. Na Universidade, em 1528, junto com colegas, fundou a Ordem Religiosa “Companhia de Jesus”.
Em Paris, conseguiu o título de “Professor de Filosofia”. Seu grupo cada vez mais forte e maior era chamado de “Soldados de Cristo”, que sempre lutava para a maior glória de Deus.
Passou os últimos anos de vida em Roma, onde fundou o Colégio Romano e Germânico para preparar os futuros apóstolos da Alemanha. Inácio escreveu vários livros católicos. Faleceu a 31 de julho de 1556.
Santo Inácio é uma das grandes figuras da história eclesiásticas. Sua ordem foi uma das alavancas mais fortes da restauração católicas. Abriram novos caminhos ao espírito missionário levando o Evangelho as mais distantes regiões.
