Descobrindo a origem de Prainha

Através de pesquisas feitas por alunos da Escola Santa Filomena e repórteres da Rede Mocoronga, constatou-se que a comunidade de Prainha, na Floresta Nacional do Tapajós, foi fundada no dia 16 Setembro de 1888 por um comunitário chamado Francisco Serrão, conhecido como “Chico Tucu”, o mesmo chegou nessa margem do rio Tapajós através de um batelão, meio de transporte mais utilizado naquela época.
Sabe-se, que a comunidade desde que foi fundada, sua economia sempre foi a cultura da subsistência. O senhor Francisco desde que chegou a essa localidade tinha o objetivo, encontrar um lugar para morar e trabalhar junto com sua família.
Em menos de um ano já haviam várias famílias morando nesse lugar. Os moradores reuniram-se e escolheram o nome que dariam a comunidade, ficando então chamada de Prainha do Itapaiuna, com o significado de Prainha de pedras pretas devido a quantidade de pedras existentes enfrente a comunidade.
Em 1986 chegou a essa comunidade uma empresa exploradora de madeira chamada de Pau Rosa, a partir de então passaram a chamar o lugar de Prainha de Pau Rosa. O objetivo maior dessa empresa era extrair óleo e incenso de pau rosa, permanecendo em Prainha por 8 anos e depois por falta de matéria prima teve que se retirar.
Por volta do ano de 1949, foi construída a primeira escola da comunidade chamada de Escola Mista de Prainha, sua primeira professora foi a senhora Cenita. Após anos os moradores denominaram a escola de Santa Filomena, em homenagem a padroeira da comunidade.
Hoje alunos, comunitários, jovens, continuam fazendo pesquisas buscando conhecer ainda mais a história de origem de sua comunidade. Prainha é uma comunidade bem receptiva e está sempre esperando sua visita.
