PCCU nas margens do Tapajós

Viver bem é ter saúde. Mas, para que isso aconteça é necessário alguns cuidados com o corpo, desde dos mas básicos como: tomar banho todos os dias até ir ao médico ou mesmo a prevenção através de consultas de rotinas. Na região ribeirinha a população conta com ajuda do Amigo Cuidador – Navio Abaré (que na língua indígena significa amigo cuidador, aquele que cuida), que passa a cada quarenta dias visitando as famílias espalhadas nas margens do rio Tapajós.
Um dos exames de rotinas realizados pelo Abaré é o PCCU (Preventivo do Câncer do Colo Uterino) realizado em mulheres com vida sexual ativa. É um exame simples que inicia com a palestra realizada por um profissional de saúde, que explica ao público alvo as informações de como será realizado este exame tão importante para a mulher. Quando a equipe chega na comunidade, o Agente Comunitário de Saúde, o Técnico de Enfermagem já realizaram uma mobilização para que seja realizado as consultas. Na comunidade de Parauá a Enfermeira Madalena Camilo contou com a contribuição das Técnicas em Enfermagem Jersonita e Mercedes que auxiliaram no cadastramento dessas mulheres antes do exame a Enfermeira apresentou o Kit Exame (contém um espéculo, uma espátula e uma escovinha) para as mulheres que esperavam no Posto de Saúde. Esse processo ajuda a mulher entender e desvincular o medo de fazer o exame que à pouco tempo era temido por essa classe.
É através desse exame que previne-se o câncer do colo do útero e outras doenças. Mas, para que isso não aconteça, a mulher deve realizar todo o ano uma consulta ao ginecologista para saber como vai a sua saúde e dependendo do resultado volta para casa ou começa ali mesmo o tratamento. E o dito popular comprova “Prevenir é melhor do que remediar”.
