O Projeto Rádio pela Educação vem promovendo educação e comunicação nas ondas do rádio desde 1999. A turma utiliza a sintonia do rádio para transformar o dia-dia escolar de mais de 250 crianças e adolescentes nas escolas públicas dos municípios de: Santarém, Monte Alegre, Aveiro, Juruti e Belterra em Educação e Cidadania. Através do programa Para Ouvir e Aprender, veiculado na Rádio Rural de Santarém uma emissora AM, leva as informações através das ondas nos diversos assuntos pautados no incentivo à leitura e à escrita, a educação ambiental, os direitos da criança e do adolescente, cidadania,conta com a participação de professores desenvolvem as atividades em sala de aula, com base em um Guia Pedagógico, produzido pela equipe do PRPE em parceria com a Universidade Federal do Pará.
Com objetivo de promover a participação, construção e capacitação de alunos e professores na área de Educomunicação com vista ao trabalho em sala de aula, a equipe do Projeto Radio pela Educação realiza nos dias 09, 10 e 11 de Dezembro de 2010, o IV Encontro do Rádio pela Educação no Colégio Dom Amando/Santarém.
Com oficinas de Comunicação para Rede de Repórteres Educativos, Produção para Comunicadores Juvenis das Escolas, Internet, Educação Ambiental, Teatro, Arte Plásticas, Produção de Jornal impresso, Fabricação de Brinquedos e vídeo ministrado pela equipe da Rede Mocoronga de Comunicação Popular do Projeto Saúde e Alegria Jucelino Filho e Nils Bucher da Escola Nórdica (Suécia)
para os alunos e oficinas de: Artesanato, Jogos Educativos, Educomunicação, Contação de estória, Educação Ambiental e palestra “A escola que queremos, construindo o saber ambiental” para os professores das escolas dos municípios presentes no encontro.
