Amparado em decisão judicial Barco Abaré I vai atender comunidades do Tapajós

Está tudo preparado para a saída hoje (22/02), do Porto de Santarém, do Barco Hospital Abaré I, que vai atender comunidades do rio Tapajós. A equipe da Secretaria Municipal de Saúde de Santarém – SEMSA, trabalhou durante o dia de hoje preparando mantimentos, remédios e equipamentos para 12 dias à bordo.
Segundo o Secretário Municipal de Saúde, Dr. Emannuel Silva, que teve encontro hoje com Caetano Scannavino, coordenador do Projeto Saúde & Alegria, a viagem vai cumprir um calendário programado com antecedência desde o ano passado, prevendo um mínimo de oito rodadas em 2012 para comunidades de Santarém. Nesta viagem, entre 22/02 a 03/03, a equipe à bordo do Abaré I vai atender 38 comunidades da Reserva Extrativista Tapajós/ Arapiuns, da comunidade de Vila Franca até Samaúma.
Estas jornadas de atendimento à bordo do Abaré I, acontecem com regularidade desde 2006, por meio da parceria do Projeto Saúde & Alegria, Secretarias Municipais de Saúde, com apoio da Fundação Terres des Hommes, da Holanda, proprietária do barco. Em dezembro de 2010 se tornou política pública, com a portaria 2.191 do Ministério da Saúde instituindo o Abaré I como a primeira Unidade de Saúde da Família Fluvial do Brasil, passando a SEMSA a assumir a gestão dos atendimentos. Porém, num momento de consolidação da experiência, a fundação Terre des Hommes resolveu pela retirada abrupta do barco da região.
O fato tem gerado mobilização das comunidades atendidas, e dos parceiros envolvidos na busca de uma solução para a questão, que poderá ser a negociação pela permanência do Abaré I no Tapajós, ou um tempo para que o governo municipal se equipe com outra embarcação adequada para o serviço. Em decisão no último dia 16/02, que ainda cabe recurso, a justiça determinou a permanência do Barco por seis meses, em ação cautelar ajuizada pela Procuradoria Jurídica do Município de Santarém, após ser informada pela Terre des Hommes sobre decisão.
Enquanto o barco navega o Tapajós amparado por uma decisão juducial, cumprindo a função social para o qual foi projetado, os envolvidos ainda buscam uma solução negociada. O coordenador do PSA, Caetano Scannavino, acredita nisso e vem tentando sensibilizar a diretoria da fundação diretamente na holanda.
