Patrimônio histórico belterrense será restaurado
28 de março de 2011 por Monica de AlmeidaNa última quinta-feira, 24, executivos e técnicos do Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) estiveram em Belterra vistoriando os prédios históricos da Companhia Ford a serem restaurados pelo PAC Cidades históricas. Acompanhando a comitiva estavam o prefeito Geraldo Pastana, o diretor da AmaBrasil José Luiz Aranha, a superintendente do IPHAN no Pará Maria Dorotéia e o diretor do Programa Butantan Amazônia Dr. Mercadante.
Segundo o prefeito, a visita da equipe foi o último passo para a liberação do recurso fincanceiro a ser investido nas obras de restauração. Ele afirmou o município cumpriu todas as exigências do IPHAN para inscrever a cidade no Projeto de restauração e que o tombamento da cidade ocorreu em outubro de 2010.
Estima-se que o projeto custe o equivalente a 32 milhões de reais e através dele serão restaurados 18 prédios e monumentos, entre os quais estão a caixa d’água da Estrada um, os colégios, a igreja matriz, a igreja Batista, o trapiche de Pindobal, o antigo escritório, a casa um entre outros prédios já tombados.
