A Farinha é um dos ingredientes que compõe o prato do povo Paraense e principalmente o prato dos moradores da Vila Castanhal, que buscam na roça a fonte de sustento de suas famílias, a mandioca ainda é a principal esperança de uma vida melhor do povo do interior, e dela que se extrai a farinha que faz parte da alimentação diária dos povos da Amazônia, e dela que se extrai o amido, conhecido por aqui como a tapioca que também é utilizado para fazer inúmeras guloseimas, o tucupi também é extraído da mandioca e serve para dar gostos aos alimentos juntamente com a pimenta.
